Every December 18th, Qatar celebrates National Day in commemoration of the historic day in 1878 when Shaikh Jasim, the founder of the State of Qatar, succeeded his father, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Thani, as the ruler and led the country towards unity. December 18th is the day they remember how their national unity was achieved and on this glorious occasion, Qataris had highlighted the day with parade/caravan, air shows and the most spectacular was the display of fireworks during the night at Corniche. There were cultural and other stage shows but we haven’t got a chance to go and witness them. Here under are some photo’s taken from this event:
A parade of classic, private, security and military vehicles
The most awaited display of fireworks in Doha Corniche that lasted for 10 minutes added glitter to the event. Spectators murmured in chorus as they expressed in great amazement when the barrage of fireworks started to shoot up the sky with different styles and colours plus a mix of a loud boom that synchronised the glittering starry-like sparks coming from the small boats that was used as the base of the pyrotechnics.
